Report | Under-11s v Winchester

Updated: Aug 16, 2019

Cold start but dry with both teams keen for a win from the off, playing reduced sides and smaller goals as neither team could field 9v9.

Brilliant opening bout of calm pinpoint passing from Southampton as part of end to end play for the opening 10 mins.

Some devastating Winchester corners testing the defence and Brewer having to be on guard pulling off some excellent saves.

Play continued with both teams still hungry for the ball some excellent work from Emma and Ella at the back with Brewer and cover from Chloe and Sienna when needed.

Good pressure all round resulting in some lovely play up front from Chloe just before half time.

Awesome start from Southampton after the break with blinding drives up first the left wing from Ella one end of the pitch to the other followed a minute later with Emma doing the full length of the pitch up the right wing.

Good pressure and renewed vigour driving out from defence. Some excellent turns and through balls from Emma with Southampton unable to convert to goals.

A fantastic Leyla, Emily Chloe combo forced a diving save from the Winchester keeper but Southampton again foiled from converting.

Another effort from Amy forcing Winchester to save, Chloe forcing a save, Amy on the rebound but still denied.

Leyla just missing the mark from edge of the box on two occasions.

Really great game from all with Brewer picking up well deserved but a close player of the match.
