Report | Under-11s v Pace Youth Lynx

Updated: Aug 16, 2019

The game started with Southampton have most of the possession, Chloe effective down the left flank making the keeper work, Sienna tenacious in the middle.

Pace countering well causing us some trouble at the back due to some ball watching (putting themselves in front).

Southampton kept the pressure on and Chloe picked one out of the top drawer hitting the post from outside the box.

A carbon copy a few minutes later was even better, levelling it.

Amy working well on the right made a good through ball to Summer who was playing with determination going forward.

The resulting corner came to Chloe who curled a beautiful shot .

Pace though were quick to counter, Ella & Emma again working well as a unit defended really well.

The second half saw Southampton rolling their sleeves up and making their mark.

Leyla and Ailish were outstanding in the middle of the pitch winning a lot of tackles.

One of the best ‘footballing’ moments saw Leyla winning the ball in the middle of the field, picking out Amy wide on the left, who with a deft curling chipped pass set Emily H through on goal.

Leyla by this point was dominant in the middle of the pitch, waltzing past players with ease.

Pace yet again tried their best, but Brewer was equal to the challenge, tipping the ball over brilliantly. Followed moments later with strong hands to deny Pace.

Amy’s passing picking out Ailish, who brilliantly went past a defender only to be denied by the post, Summer was in the right place, the ball falling at her feet in the box.

Southampton had a grip on the game, Amy and Chloe again coming close, but Pace are a strong side, both teams did really well in ‘difficult’ conditions today.

Southampton working out how to play on the pitch in the second half making the difference.
