First Team Assistant Manager confirmed

Smith brings in former Brighton & Bristol Coach as his number two.

Southampton Women’s FC is delighted to confirm the appointment of Lee Hurrell as the new First Team Assistant Manager ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Hurrell worked as current manager Aaron Smith’s number 2 at Chichester City last season where the two guided the Lilywhites to a best ever third place finish in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier.

The UEFA B Licence holding coach has a wealth of coaching experience in the women's game which also includes spells at Portsmouth Ladies and Bristol City Women.

From 2013-2015 Hurrell was the Development Squad manager at Pompey while also assisting the first team manager Perry Northeast during the title-winning season for the Blues in the 2014/15 season.

After leaving Pompey, Hurrell moved to Bristol City Women as head coach of the under-17s where he spent a year before moving out to Canada in 2016.

For the 2016/17 season, he was Director of Player Development at Toronto High Park before returning to England last season to coach at Brighton.
