Southampton Women’s F.C. have agreed a further one year deal with their current First Team Manager Fran Alonso.
New Club Chairman Barry Derham was keen to secure the continued services of their highly talented Coach as his first priority.

Spanish Coach Alonso, is First Team Technical Support Coach at Premier League Club SOUTHAMPTON F.C. and has agreed a further one year deal after successfully guiding the team to the SRWFL First Division Northern League Championship title.
"I am really excited to have the opportunity to continue to develop this club and build upon the good progress we have made to date. We have a good work ethic, training twice a week and 100% commitment is key from my players.”

Alonso took over as First Team Manager in December 2014 with the team languishing at the bottom of the table with a single point from 11 games. Alonso and his team transformed the club introducing a new attractive and effective playing style, taking 13 points from the remaining league games. The following season 2015-16 Southampton have gone on to win the League and were runners up in the SRWFL League Cup final.
Asked about the Club’s future growth Chairman Derham responded:
