In a statement released today, Thursday March 26th, the Football Association has confirmed that the 2019/2020 season will end.
From Tier 3 to 7 the season has been brought to an immediate end and all results will be expunged.
This means there will be no promotions or relegations in those tiers.
The full statement from the FA can be found here.
Earlier this week Hampshire FA had postponed all their competitions and a further statement is expected from them following today's statement.
A season ends early
It is disappointing from a football perspective that we as a club will not be able to complete our seasons for any of our teams this season especially with teams fighting for promotion still.
We understand though that this is a challenging situation and the FA has not taken this decision lightly.
The health and safety of everyone involved in football from the players to the spectators and all of our volunteers is paramount right now.
We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported the club this season, the hard work begins to get us back playing again.
We hope that you will join us again next season as we aim to push on.
Thank you, Southampton Women's FC.
